New Landmark for Madras Sanskrit College

Madras Sanskrit College celebrated its 109th anniversary on Thursday. The students union of the college - Sarada Vilasini Sabha - released their annual journal Rasikapriya to coincide with the occasion.

“We’ve released this journal after 30 years, that itself is a proud feeling. This wouldn’t have been possible without the blessings and support of our patron Brahmashri Sheshadrinath and the entire team of students and teachers,” said N V Devi Prasad, Principal of the College.

The first issue was given to renowned Chartered Accountant and Columnist S Gurumurthy, who was also the guest of honour, “I am really happy to see that this renowned institution has turned 109 today.” Speaking about his experiences, Gurumurthy said, “Spiritualism helped me become what I am today, I feel free and exuberant and can take on any challenge. There is a lot to learn from our culture and traditions. Institutions like this help keep them alive. Sanskrit is an important language as it has helped keep our ancient traditions alive till date, I wish this is taken forward.” On hearing this the students gave a huge round of applause to the Guest of Honour.
