School dropout makes it to Paris climate summit


Mansoor, a 32-year-old who manages the dry waste collection centre (DWCC) in the city, assumed the role of Captain Planet and advocated to the world the importance of the 3Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle – in managing waste effectively.

Mr. Mansoor, who represented the Alliance of Indian Wastepickers and Indian Youth Climate Network, has just returned from Paris, France, where he attended the COP21 that witnessed deliberations on how to mitigate climate change.
