Poonawalla group to invest Rs 100cr for clean Pune initiative


The Poonawalla group, the world's largest manufacturer of vaccines, will invest Rs 100 crore with the aim of turning Pune into one of the cleanest cities in the country.

This is perhaps the first time in the country that a private company has planned to spend so much on improving the waste management system of a city.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has lent support to the group's green initiative that aims to cover the city's network of roads spanning 300km in phases in the next three years with a fleet of specially designed trucks, a host of trash bins and a slew of garbage processing plants...............Read more
