More than 100 fish were found dead, floating on the surface of a man-made lake at Dhanas on Sunday morning, putting aquatic life under severe risk. Local residents said they had observed dead fish in the water for the past one week.

Even as the dead fish have not been taken out from the water yet by the authorities concerned, and there are possible chances of them spreading the contamination among other fish, the foul smell is making people stay away from their morning and evening walks. Surprisingly, the UT authorities were unaware about the dead fish floating on the lake surface until evening.
