Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, and the Indian Institute of Energy Management (IIEM) Chennai, have inked an agreement to offer post-graduate diploma in energy management through the open and distance mode.

The programme, which is to be offered jointly by the farm varsity and the IIEM is designed to disseminate ways and means to achieve, maintain and utilise energy optimally throughout the organisation, minimise energy costs/waste without affecting production and quality, manage energy use at the highest energy efficiency, reuse and recycle energy by cascading, use the most appropriate technology and reduce the avoidable losses. The course also covers renewable energy, types of energy auditing methodologies, etc, states a TNAU release.
