First tribal school survey reveals dilapidated conditions of infrastructure


The first extensive survey of schools conducted in tribaldominated villages of India has revealed a grim picture of dilapidated buildings, no power connections, lack of separate toilet for girls and poorteacher attendance across all states.

The survey, conducted for human resources development ministry, shows that primary and upper primary schools have reached the interiors of villages and serve mid-day meals regularly but they are plagued by basic problems of infrastructure that deter the tribal children from regularly attending schools..............Read more
