The Wayanad Agri-Horticultural Society (WAHS) is preparing to launch an innovative organic farming project to promote organic vegetable cultivation.
The project christened ‘Jaiva Jeevanam Vithu Muthal Vipani vare,’ is aimed at setting up an open precision farm on six acres of land at Muttil on the Kozhikode-Mysore National Highway 212 with technical and financial assistance of the Agriculture Department, K. Sadanandan, president, WAHS, told The Hindu .
An organic vegetable garden with 28 varieties of hybrid vegetables, a hybrid seed trial plot of the Agricultural Department, a port-tray nursery to ensure the availability of quality seedling materials of hybrid vegetables to the farmers, a farm school to train the young generation on sustainable organic farming practices by utilising modern farming techniques.......Read More
