The BJP has asked party MPs to expeditiously nominate five professionals each from their respective constituencies to help the saffron outfit groom its next generation of leaders in different parts of the country. The party had sought such nominations a few months ago, but the response from the parliamentarians was tepid.
The party has shot off letters to all its MPs saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is showing keen interest in the initiative. Incidentally, The New Indian Express had reported on August 19 that the BJP was looking to raise a cadre of professionals hailing from various walks of life in each of the parliamentary constituencies.
“The BJP issued letters on November 22 to all its MPs, wherein it has been stated that they have not yet submitted names of professionals to the party. The MPs have been asked to submit the names to BJP national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav,” said a party functionary.
Incidentally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked party chief Amit Shah to start working on creating a cadre of professionals with the aim of enhancing the strength of workers with permanent sources of income....Read more
