The Chennai Corporation will develop a mobile phone app for its cycle sharing system, integrating it with other modes of transport and embedding GPS devices in the 4,976 cycles.
In the first phase, the cycle track network is likely to be launched in 200 stations in areas such as Raja Annamalai Puram, Marina Beach, Teynampet, T.Nagar, Gopalapuram, Egmore, Chetpet and Nungambakkam. “The capital cost for the system is Rs. 44.18 crore.
