To help improve oral hygiene as the new year approaches, The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is providing tips on simple initiatives that people can take in order to practice good dental habits.
Raymond Martin, an AGD spokesperson, said that "poor oral health and untreated oral diseases and conditions can have a significant impact on quality of life."
In fact, the American Dental Health Association warns that gum disease has been linked to chronic illnesses, including diabetes and heart disease as well as premature or low-weight births.
