Most schools unprepared to cope with disasters

Consider this scenario - your school is on fire.

How do you respond to the disaster? `Will douse it with blankets,' `call the fire force,' and run to safety', were some of the responses children of Classes 4 to 11 of nearly 10 schools in the city and suburbs came up with.

Twelve years ago, the state witnessed one of the worst ire tragedies in which 94 students of the primary section of a school in Kumbakonam perished.
