Social Justice Ministry has sought more funds: Napoleon


The Union Ministry for Social Justice and Empowerment has sought an increased fund allocation from the Centre for implementation of various welfare programmes for different sections of the society, said D. Napoleon, its Minister of State.

At present, Rs.2,585 crore has been allocated to the Ministry and this is inadequate to implement the various welfare programmes for the depressed and marginalised sections.

Mukul Wasnik, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, has already made a demand for allocation of Rs.7,000 crore to the department, Mr. Napoleon told presspersons after inspecting an unmanned level crossing in T.Valavanur village on Monday.

The Minister said that his department has planned to set up rehabilitation centres for senior citizens on the outskirts of the major cities and towns in various districts throughout the country...........Click for more
