In their latest, the University Innovation and Instrumentation Centre of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) on Friday unveiled 15 low-cost equipments, which make rearing animals comparatively easy for farmers.
“We have designed these products after consultation with over a lakh farmers, taking into account their needs,” said Dr S Thilagar, Vice Chancellor of TANUVAS. “Scientifically tested, they are in tune with the length and breadth of the animals,” he added.
Portable multipurpose medicine wheel cart, wheel barrow for farm waste removal, misting device to cool livestock, movable multiple mobile sprinkler system, nest box for new born lambs, piglet comfort crate, low-cost dry fodder cutter, automatic waterer for rabbits and low-cost PVC inclined battery cages for rabbit, were some of the equipments.
